Built in 1769 by William Harwood Jr., a militia colonel during the Revolutionary War, Endview Plantation served as a training ground during the War of 1812, as well as a hospital for both Confederate and Union troops during the Civil War. Confederate President Jefferson Davis was imprisoned here after the Civil War. A living history museum, this two-story frame house contains a number of interesting artifacts and photos that detail its rich history. The premises include two graveyards and various archaeological sites. Endview Plantation is open from 10 AM to 4 PM Monday through Saturday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday. To reach Endview Plantation, take I-64 to Exit 247.
