Juneteenth Celebration

A re-creation of the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation to slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865, Juneteenth takes place at the 1899 Newsome House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Juneteenth includes costumed interpreters, period music and food.
